According to Trump, the pornstar was given "unconditional release" as a penalty in the bribery case.

In a case regarding the concealment of bribery paid to a pornstar, Donald Trump, the recently elected president of the United States, was sentenced. In lieu of jail time or a fine, the court has granted him "unconditional release" as an extraordinary penalty. This punishment was handed out in New York today, Friday, by Judge Juan Marchan.
Donald Trump will become the 47th President of the United States on January 20. Trump might have been imprisoned for up to four years in the bribery case under U.S. law. If the defendant is found guilty, the judge's decision is upheld, but they are not subject to any limitations or prohibitions. This is known as unconditional release.

In the case against Trump, it was alleged that he had a sexual relationship with former pornstar Stormy Daniels. Before the 2016 presidential election, Trump paid hush money to Daniels to keep the affair secret. He also failed to mention the payment in his business records. Trump was found guilty in May of last year in this case.

The sentence handed down by Judge Juan Marchan today is considered rare in U.S. judicial history. During the sentencing, Marchan stated that the court had never faced such a unique and significant situation before. He added that the only legally possible sentence for the highest-ranking person in the country, without interference, was unconditional release.

Trump was virtually present at the court in Manhattan, New York, during the sentencing. Before receiving the unconditional release, he said, "This is a terrible experience. I believe this is a huge blow to New York and the New York court system. This lawsuit was filed to damage my reputation so I would lose the election."

After Trump was found guilty in the bribery case, his political party, the Republican Party, appealed the ruling in a higher court. His lawyer also filed a request to suspend the sentence announcement. However, on Tuesday, Associate Judge Ellen J. Jesmer of New York dismissed the appeal. Trump has repeatedly claimed that the case against him was politically motivated.

Earlier, on January 6, Trump was officially recognized as President. Exactly four years ago on the same day, he was involved in a scandal. After the 2020 election, Trump refused to accept his defeat to current President Joe Biden. On January 6 of that year, Trump supporters stormed the U.S. Capitol at his invitation to prevent Biden's certification. The court has dismissed the case filed against Trump in connection with that incident.
